From 1 January 2004 Sencio Community Leisure operates the leisure facilities and services in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council. Sencio Community Leisure is a Trust and one of the main benefits is that any profits will be directly re-invested into the facilities.

Sencio has a range of key service objectives that it will work towards:

The Society Board is responsible for strategic policy and direction and consists of 11 members. If you believe that you have got what it takes to help to shape the future of leisure in your community why not become more involved by joining the Society Board and seeking election as a Board Member.

ELIGIBILITY
Board members, who will be voluntary, will have an overriding belief in the value of leisure facilities, services and opportunities in improving the quality of life of individuals and their communities. Potential Board Members must be eligible to hold a directorship of a limited company and must have an ability and willingness to work to the high standard of accountability required of a company in receipt of public funding. Board members should bring specific skills, knowledge and experience of working at a strategic level to enhance the organisation's ability to deliver its financial and social objectives.

SPORTS DEVELOPMENT
Sencio Community Leisure is very committed to Sports Development, the role of the Trust in Sport Development is directed towards promoting all recognised sports at all levels and to encourage and facilitate maximum participation in sport by all sections of the community. The Sport Development team are developing sporting opportunities across the district & working in partnerships with schools, clubs and other Sporting organisations such as the Sevenoaks Sports Council and Kent Sports Development Unit to increase participation.

Sevenoaks District Sports Council

Sevenoaks District Sports Council encourages local talent for improvement of sporting standards across the Sevenoaks District. Offering financial and technical assistance including coaching and training advice.

Grants are available to organisations and invididuals up to �200 per applicant. Grants are made to all suitable applicants from young people to the retired developing new sporting skills.

Clubmark

Developed by Sport England, Clubmark is a set of national standards for National Governing Bodies of Sport to adopt and for their affiliated clubs to meet.

The scheme accredits and recognises clubs that are committed to providing a safe, effective and child friendly environment for children and young people.

Clubs achieving Clubmark will receive National and local recognition and will be able to use the logo on all club promotional material.

A number of sports are currently participating in Clubmark including athletics, cricket, cycling, gymnastics, hockey, judo, netball, rowing, rugby union, squash, swimming, table tennis and tennis.
