It was introduced following discussions with customers and a request by the Sevenoaks Youth Council and specifically addresses the limitations of the previous scheme that operated as a bolt on to an adult membership but which was restricted to off-peak hours.
The package is a stand-alone one for those aged between 14 and 18 and will allow young people to use the facilities at any time.
“The previous youth membership was devised when lifestyles weren’t as busy or as complex as they are now. In addition school hours can be longer and the educational pressures greater, meaning off-peak hours do no suit many young people,” explains SCL commercial services director Jane Parish.
“The membership allows those eligible to use the facilities at any time and also at times that suit parents. In addition, many people have asked us about fitness classes they could attend with their teenagers so we will be looking at introducing sessions such as family Zumba and teen Spinning.”
The Sencio youth membership costs £24 a month (by Direct Debit, paid through and arranged with a parents bank account or £264 annually (giving a one month saving with 12 for the price of 11 months!).
